Website Content Tip: Offer Multiple Forms of Content
What do you think of when I say the phrase “website content?”
For many, the immediate response will be ‘text’ or ‘words.’ While text does play an important role in telling your company’s story and solving your customers’ problems, “content” means much, much more.
The fastest growing segment of online content today is video, and that video content goes beyond social media, sports clips and cute cats. Surveys say that 75 percent of business executives watch work related videos at least weekly, and 59 percent of senior executives say that if both text and video are available on the same topic on the same page, they prefer to watch the video. “Content” can also include infographics, audio, online calculators and other tools, and even games.
Our advice: As you plan your website’s pages, think about providing information in ways that appeal to the preferences of multiple audiences with a content-rich experience.
