If you aren’t topping the search rankings, your website—and therefore, your business—is missing opportunities. There are so many little details involved in matching the latest search algorithms that even the smallest mistakes can cause your ranking to fall, sometimes simply because of changes, inattention or failure to update pages as your website grew and evolved. MarketingProfs dug into the anonymous data collected via SEMrush's [Site Audit tool](https://www.semrush.com/features/site-audit/) on 100,000 websites and 450 million pages, and compiled their findings into this eye-opening [infographic](http://www.marketingprofs.com/charts/2016/30414/the-11-most-common-website-seo-issues-infographic?adref=nlt081016). Which of these common SEO errors are occurring on your website? Duplicate content? Missing alt tags on images? Duplicate or missing metadescriptions? ![Common SEO Mistakes That Are Killing Your Search Rankings](https://www.jonespr.net/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog_Images/seoissues-semrush-100816.jpg?width=531&name=seoissues-semrush-100816.jpg "Common SEO Mistakes That Are Killing Your Search Rankings") Correcting these mistakes can be time-consuming, but going through your website page to page to update and correct SEO elements may pay off by improving your search rankings. There are ways to make it simpler, though. Our [On-Page SEO Template](https://www.jonespr.net/on-page-SEO-planning-template) will walk you, step-by-step, through nearly all of the elements noted by MarketingProfs, including automatically calculating things like the character count in page titles and page descriptions to keep you within optimal lengths. ## 6 Steps To Creating Enviable Brands Download our guide 6 Steps to Creating Enviable Brands to learn the crucial steps you should follow to create an enviable brand for your company.
