That may seem tongue-in-cheek, but in some ways, I really mean it. More than 2 billion searches are conducted on Facebook every day, many of them initiated by consumers looking for businesses. If your business isn’t there for those potential customers, it may seem to not exist.  If you are like most small businesses, you do exist on Facebook. According to a [small business survey by Clutch in early 2018](https://clutch.co/agencies/social-media-marketing/resources/small-business-social-media-survey-2018), at that time more than 70 percent of small businesses were already using social media, and another 15 percent had plans to add it to their strategies. What is somewhat surprising is that 13 percent of small businesses had no intentions of using social media — which is surprising to me given the benefits Facebook and other social media platforms can provide to small business, from spas to insurance agents and doggie day cares to veterinarians. It’s not surprising that millennials are more inclined toward social media, or that women-owned businesses use it more (women tend to be more inclined toward communication). And Facebook rises to the top amongst all generations as the social media platform of choice for business use.
