Scare Up Some Creepy Content For Halloween
It’s almost Halloween, which means two things:
Pumpkin Spice Latte season is wrapping up; and the stores are full of Christmas decorations already.
But it also means advertisers have been showcasing their creepiest creativity. What ads and images have you loved from the Halloween season?
Here are few we’ve found, both current and from years past, that range from simple to simply deranged.
Jodi Baglien Sparkes created these simple two-color print ads for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, proving that simple designs and play on words can be eye-catching.
Mini’s “Motortober” ads were nearly as simple, tying the carmaker’s annual promotion into the spooky holiday.
Providing that nearly any profession can get into the spirit, we found these gems for the chiropractic and orthodontic communities. (But wouldn’t a skeleton have been a better analogy for the chiropractor?)
If chiropractic care seems like an odd candidate for Halloween promotion, what about frozen vegetables? Yes, frozen vegetables.
Heineken’s creative team comes up with great ideas year after year. “Frank” is one of a series of characters enjoying a cold drink in a campaign from 2003. It’s just as effective today.
I warned you earlier about the simply deranged Halloween content connection, right? Here it is. BuzzFeed gave props to this Ami Ci Cani pet adoption ad from Italy. Looks a little like my Sophie. Good dog, Sophie.
