Social Media Tip: How Often To Post On YouTube

Dec 7 Blog Header-01

Did you realize YouTube is the second largest search engine on the internet? With more searches daily than all other search engines (other than Google) combined, it is one of the key places the world goes to learn.

Yes, the most often searched videos are still music, but YouTube has a growing place in your B2B marketing strategy, as prospects and leads seek out information about how to solve their problems, vendors for their needed products and services, and innovations in their industry.

Nearly 6 in 10 executives prefer watching video to reading text, so it just makes sense to provide them the content they want in the format they prefer.

Like any other search engine or social media network — and YouTube is a combination of the two — new content helps keep your channel in the loop, but it has to be high quality content. Which brings me to the answer to the question: How often should I post on YouTube for B2B marketing?

The answer is the ever-popular: It depends.

It depends on how often you can regularly create high-quality videos. If you can develop a new video each week, that meets the criteria of being well-written, well-shot, well-edited, providing useful information or engaging storytelling that is relevant to your target audience, great! Ideally, adding a new video each week is the goal to shoot for.

But if your resources only allow for a new, quality video once a month, then post once a month.

Focus your efforts on identifying a regular schedule in which you can reliably create and post high quality videos. Don’t rush the process or post poorly-crafted content just to meet an arbitrary target.
